Chow Mein Candy

2 - 12 oz pkg chocolate chips
1 - 12 oz pkg butterscotch chips

1) Melt together and pour over the following:

1 large can Chow Mein Noodles
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

2)Mix and drip by teaspoon on greased cookie sheet

Grandma Augspurg's M&M Cookies

1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1/2c up white sugar
2 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups M&Ms

1) Blend shortening and sugars
2) Beat in vanilla and eggs
3) Sift dry ingredients and add to above mixture
4) Stir in 1/2 cup M&Ms
5) Drop by tsp on ungreased cookie sheet. Decorate top with rest of M&Ms
6) Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes

Make sure and make with love just like Grandma would.

Snowballs

1 cup butter
1/4 cup powdered sugar
2 cups flour
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup pecans

1) Cream butter with sugar until fluffy.
2) Add everything and mix well.
3) Taking a heaping tsp. of dough make a ball.
4) Bake on greased cookie sheet in slow oven (325 degrees) about 35 minutes
5) While hot roll in powdered sugar.

Divinity

2 1/2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
2 egg whites
1 tsp vanilla

1) In a 2 qt pan combine sugar, syrup, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/2 cup water
2) Cook to hard boil stage (260 degrees) stirring on until sugar dissolves
3) Meanwhile beat egg whites to stiff peaks
4) Gradually pour syrup over egg whites, beating at high speed on electric mixer
5) Add vanilla and beat until candy holds its shape, 4 to 5 minutes
6) Quickly drop from a tsp onto wax paper.

Yields approx. 40 pieces

Snickerdoodles

1)Mix together thoroughly:

1 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs

2)Sift together and stir in other mixture:

2 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp vanilla

3) Chill dough
4) Roll into ball the size of a small walnut
5) Roll in mixture of 2 Tbsp sugar and 2 Tbsp cinnamon
6) Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet
7) Bake at 400 degrees until lightly browned but still soft

Ribbon Fudge

3 cups sugar
3/4 cups margarine
2/3 cup (5 1/3 ounce can) evaporated milk
6 oz pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
7 oz jar KRAFT marshmallow creme
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup peanut butter

1) Combine: 1 1/2 cups sugar, 6 tsp margarine, 1/3 cups milk
2) Bring to full rolling boil in a 1/2 qt. pan stirring occasionally
3) Continue boiling 4 minutes over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent scorching
4) Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate chips until melted. Add 1 cup marshmallow creme and 1/2 tsp. vanilla
5) Beat until well blended
6) Pour into greased 13 x 9 inch pan
7) repeat with remaining ingredients substitute peanut butter for chocolate chips. Spread over chocolate layer.
8) Cool and cut into squares.

Makes 3 lbs
