2 1/2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
2 egg whites
1 tsp vanilla

1) In a 2 qt pan combine sugar, syrup, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/2 cup water
2) Cook to hard boil stage (260 degrees) stirring on until sugar dissolves
3) Meanwhile beat egg whites to stiff peaks
4) Gradually pour syrup over egg whites, beating at high speed on electric mixer
5) Add vanilla and beat until candy holds its shape, 4 to 5 minutes
6) Quickly drop from a tsp onto wax paper.

Yields approx. 40 pieces
